Range Rules
1. Safety First ALWAYS…
· ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
· ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
· ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
2. Shotguns must be unloaded, actions open and made safe at all times unless in a gun rack or standing on a shooting post. Shotguns not placed in the vertical racks must have their actions open at all times. “Break Action” shotguns may be closed, after verifying it is unloaded, when placing the shotgun in a vertical storage rack. When carried, all fixed barrel shotguns (i.e. Semi-Automatic, Pump, Single Shot, etc.) must be pointed upwards with the muzzle above head level.
3. Minors under the age of 18 will be accompanied by an adult or guardian at all times.
4. Ear and eye protection is mandatory on everyone at the range.
5. Shotshells shall be lead shots only. No ‘Magnum’ loads, Slugs or shot size larger than 7 ½ (7 ½’s & 8’s normally used).
6. When shooting Singles or Handicap, only one live round is permitted at a time.
7. When shooting Doubles, no more than two live rounds are permitted at a time.
8. Do not change post with a live round in the chamber.
9. Always walk behind the other shooters when going from post five to post one.
10. When anyone needs to attend to the traphouse during a round, all shooters must unload their shotguns prior to anyone walking in front of the shooters.
11. The red flag must be up on the traphouse while the traphouse is being tended.
12. Anyone may call a ‘CEASE FIRE’. When a ‘Cease Fire’ is announced all firearms will be immediately cleared, pointing down range, and actions open.
13. Consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises is prohibited. Persons under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be permitted to shoot and will be expelled from the trap range.
14. The range operator’s decision is final on all matters involving the enforcement of these rules and issues involving the safe operation of the range.
Your safety is our greatest concern; therefore, the range operator may remove from the firing line, without refund, and expel from the trap range area any individual who violates any of these rules.
Please abide by these rules and report any violations of these rules to the range operator.
